The Birth of our Internet Today

Humans bring their offspring to the world as they intend to have families and need someone in their hierarchy who will carry their culture, gene-pool and assets along. Idea is when anything comes into existence one or more needs, may be social, emotional or materialistic are the reason behind it. Similarly, internet was born as a result of strong need to communicate and share ideas across physical and cultural boundaries.

If we peek into the history of our internet; the domain name system was created along with the first domain name servers (DNS) in 1984. Website is the face and contact point of the information that you want to share with the whole world. 1991 was the milestone year when in first week of August the first website went online. The very much familiar and equally popular domain names i.e. “.gov” and “.org” came into picture in 1993 when both the White House and the United Nations came online. As we know, people do have malicious or negative tendencies and it happens that such vicious things come into picture quite in advance; sometimes even before a new technology makes its marks. You will be surprised to know that the first spam, or unsolicited email message, was sent out in 1978.
